Class Essentials: Guest Blogger

Los Angeles native and USC student Sophie Elkus is a self-described fashion addict. Her blog Angel Food Style is where her joy for putting together the perfect outfit comes to life. And you would think that her fabulous dress sense must come second to her studies, but Sophie proves that having a full schedule doesn’t mean sacrificing style. This week, she’s sharing her favorite beauty and fashion tips for women on-the-go with us on our blog.

I can’t remember the last time I used a JanSport backpack to carry my textbooks and laptop. Why take it back to middle school when you can upgrade to a chic tote or structured satchel? There are so many stylish collegiate accessories on the market that it’s hard to narrow down my search to these few favorites.

Edgy studs
I love how the clean white color of this backpack keeps the rose gold studs from being too edgy. You’ll definitely stand out in class with this piece. (Just be sure not to injure anyone while maneuvering through a busy hallway.)

Neon planners
These colorful planners add a touch of bright into an otherwise stodgy, boring notebook. Plus, you’ll find these quickly in your book bag.

Printed pouches
Store pencils, pens, paperclips and post-it notes in these multi-sized pouches. They’re perfect for organizing your book bag and helping you avoid an inevitable pile of clutter.

Roomy tote
The navy shade of this Kors tote is understated yet polished. I like how spacious it is, allowing you to clearly see everything inside. It comfortably fits a couple notebooks and a textbook.

Zippered satchel
White can do no wrong in the spring! Just be careful where you put your bag down — college campus sidewalks aren’t exactly known for their cleanliness.

Tech-savvy dots
These adorable Diane von Furstenberg tech supplies will liven up any old MacBook. House your laptop in a pretty printed case and crank your study tunes through a matching pair of ear buds.
