We’ve been planning our dream weddings since we were five years old. So it’s no surprise that we can’t get enough of Lover.ly, a wedding inspiration site that lets you search through pics of swoon-worthy gowns, bouquets, and everything else you need for the big day. Once a week, the ladies behind Lover.ly will be sharing their best tips for getting through the craziness of the season—whether you’re standing at the altar or enjoying a view of it from the audience.
If your Facebook feed is anything like ours, it’s probably filled with engagement photos, which means it’s time to start thinking about what you’ll be wearing to all those weddings. You don’t want to be mistaken for a bridesmaid, but you do want to choose an outfit that’s appropriate for the venue, style, and overall vibe. Here are three looks to try at three very different themed weddings:
Rustic weddings are all about mixing textures, so think lacy dresses, metallic heels, and a velvet clutch in pretty, romantic hues. Wear your natural curls down or weave them into a pretty braid to complete the look.
Go for subtly retro at a vintage wedding. You should look like you belong there, but not like you’re going to a costume party. (Unless it is a costume party, in which case, carry on.) Choose a vintage-inspired dress, pair it with sleek slingback wedges, and for the perfect finishing touch define your eyes with slightly winged black eyeliner.
There are so many directions to take your look for a modern wedding, but we love a sleek navy maxi dress, metallic accessories like these sandal heels and matching clutch, and a high bun. Then top it all off with a manicure in 2013’s hottest color—emerald green.
