Transition Your Skincare From Winter To Spring: Guest Blogger

Whether you’re looking for celebrity gossip, the best product for frizzy hair, or advice on what to wear to your cousin’s wedding, the gals at Lovelyish have got you covered. This week, a handful of the site’s staffers—Katie Kubiak, Annie Strole, and Allison Wheeler—are bringing their expertise to our blog in a series of five beauty and style how-tos.

Winter (and all the lovely skin conditions that come with it) is still here, yet spring is right around the corner. Frankly, it’s a bit of a confusing time when it comes to shopping. Are you supposed to buy a sundresses or coats? Sandals or boots?

Not only do our wardrobes change with the seasons, but our skin does too. Sure, you could wait ‘til spring comes to invest in a new seasonally appropriate beauty routine, but honestly you need a new moisturizerlike right now.

Finding skincare that can work in winter and spring is really challenging. You need something that will supplement your skin in times of winter dehydration, but you also don’t want to use anything that will be too heavy once the temperatures rise.

For a cleanser, you should opt for something that is gentle yet effective. Both fresh’s Soy Face Cleanser and Nuxe’s Rêve de Miel Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel wash away any dirt, makeup or impurities, but leave the skin feeling soft and pampered.

Also, never underestimate the power of serums! Serums are incredible; they deliver moisture and repair deep down into the skin where it really counts. Plus, they improve the effects of any moisturizer you put on top. Start using a serum now and watch your winter skin transform into a spring petal-soft state. When it gets warmer, you may be able to get away with using a serum in place of a moisturizer! My personal favorite is Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum

When it comes to moisturizers, your best bet for a transitional product would be something lightweight that packs a punch. Look for formulations that contain hyaluronic acid (also known as sodium hyaluronate) like Mario Badescu’s Hyaluronic Moisturizer. This potent ingredient provide serious moisture and radiance without weighing you down.
