How to Fake a Blowout Without a Blowdryer

image

After the demise of a long-term relationship over a year ago, I did what many newly single girls choose to do: I cut my waist-length hair into a chin-grazing bob—and immediately started to regret it. I’ve been growing my hair out ever since, and because frequent cuts are not in my game plan (or budget) I’ve turned to conditioning products to keep my hair healthy through this transitional time. My latest and greatest discovery? Macadamia Natural Oil’s Healing Oil Treatment, a light golden serum that functions as a cure-all for my locks. (Pst…some of you will be receiving it in this month’s boxes!)

In my experience, the drawback of most hair oils is their tendency to drip, spill, and get everywhere. Not so with Macadamia Natural Oil’s version, which is a blend of macadamia nut and argan oils suspended in a gel-like base (hence why I classify it as a serum). It doesn’t deposit any lingering grease onto my hands or into my hair, and it also has a pleasantly sweet smell. More importantly, it tackled my two main concerns: dry, gnarly ends and a thick texture that borders on bushy. Whenever I use it, I’m pleased by how it makes my hair look like I just got a blowout—which in my case means smooth, straight, and frizz-free—even without the aid of a blow dryer.

And for those of you who care about the nitty gritty of haircare science, you’ll be tickled to know that macadamia nut oil has a molecular structure that’s close to the sebum your scalp naturally produces, which gives it the ability to absorb rapidly and boost shine. Meanwhile, argan oil has tons of vitamins and omega acids—but I probably don’t need to wax poetic about this famed ingredient. Suffice to say that together the two actives form a great combo for anyone who’s seeking a fuss-free hair repair job they can perform on their own (cue intro of Independent Women by Destiny’s Child).
