Award season is upon us and every A-lister is wrapping up their intensive routines to get picture perfect hair, bodies, and skin. And while some prep like waxing and body wraps come standard for all celebrities on the red carpet, other practices aren’t quite as, shall we say, common.
One of the most unusual services that we’ve heard of lately is the Vampire Facelift. Recently tested by reality star Kim Kardashian, this non-surgical procedure takes blood from the patient, scientifically enhances it by adding extra platelets, and then re-injects the blood back into the patient’s face to help rejuvenate skin and reduce wrinkles.
However, despite its supposed benefits as a natural alternative to the likes of Botox, many doctors and professionals say the Vampire Facelift is just another gimmick. Beyond a few personal testimonies, there is no proof of its long-term effectiveness. Plus, at a price of anywhere from $900 to $1500 a session, this treatment doesn’t come cheap.
