Earlier today, Laura Geller hosted an intimate breakfast for bloggers to showcase her new spring launches. The event was held at her Lexington Avenue store, which in some circles is referred to as ‘the Cheers of the Upper East Side for women’ because, as Geller explained, “we have cookies at all times and we want it to be a place where people escape and it’s a refuge.” And indeed, the QVC queen’s friendly demeanor pervades every nook and cranny. (Fun fact: they even have private rooms for people who want lessons or to start from scratch have the opportunity to feel comfortable.)
I could go on and on about how lovely Geller is herself, but really what makes her products such a go-to is how well they work. This season she is coming out with a slew of new offerings, from a new dreamy eye palette to an incredible matte whipped bronzer. At Long Lash Mascara, $30, will retail exclusively on QVC: Part stain, part waterproof mascara, this formula is flake-free and the residual color can last for days. The brand says you can even sleep in it without worrying about the dreaded raccoon-eyes the next morning. I really dislike wearing mascara in general, so I am excited about the possibility of only applying every few days.
Spackle Tinted Under Makeup Brightening Primer in Ethereal, $27.50, QVC.com: Geller’s “spackle” primer is a cult product and this new pearlized-pinky hue is just so pretty. It not only gives your skin such a nice healthy glow before putting on your makeup (I tried some on my hand and was amazed!), but it also extends your makeup’s longevity.
Baked Cheek Dreams in Neapolitan, $31, will retail exclusively on QVC: A blush, a bronzer, and a highlighter all in one, you can even swirl the trio together for a wonderful luminous effect. While I was familiar with Geller’s products before, I had no idea that her baked makeup was literally baked on terracotta pans for 24 hours and everything is handmixed in Italy. There is so much detail and labor that goes into each of her compacts — extraordinary!
