SAG Awards Superlatives: The Best Looks From the 2013 Show

The Screen Actor’s Guild awards are considered something of a halfway point between the just-passed Golden Globes and the upcoming Oscars on February 24th. The event’s red carpet is slightly more relaxed, which often means more subdued beauty and fashion. But we have to say that we thought last night’s showing was pretty amazing, with tons of stellar looks. Here are our superlatives from last night’s red carpet and awards show:

Most Wow Haircut: Marion Cotillard’s asymmetrical A-line cut, which was set off by her elegant Christian Dior dress.

Best Vintage: Michelle Dockery’s sexy floor-length, vintage Chado Ralph Rucci gown. We’ve never seen side-boob done so gorgeously.

Best Leading Lady in a Comedy who Never Looks Bad on the Red Carpet: Tina Fey rocked a deep side part last night and channeled old Hollywood with finger-waves and a timeless Oscar de la Renta dress.

Best Smoky Eye: Viola Davis, in her Grecian Monique Lhullier dress, because we seriously couldn’t.stop.staring at her eyes while she presented on stage last night. We don’t even remember the award she gave because we just kept thinking, “Viola, please teach us how to make our smoky eyes as beautiful as yours.”

Best Manicure: Anne Hathaway’s adorable butterfly fingers. Not only did she amp up a fun white mani with nail art, she had three accent nails. That’s a win in our books.

Best Color of the Night: Navy. From Jennifer Lawrence to Amanda Seyfried, dark blue was totally the color of the night. Uh, and perhaps an honorable mention to Kerry Washington for looking totally perfect in Rodarte. Wowza.

Most Heart-Tugging Moment: A tie! Between the amazing tribute to one of our childhood favorites Dick Van Dyke (if you haven’t seen Mary Poppins or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, we recommend watching those films immediately) and Ben Affleck’s heartfelt acceptance speech of the Best Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture award at the very end of the night. How can you not like a guy who thanks the entire acting community for “killing it” in every line that they say on camera?

Need more red carpet intel? Here’s how to get Kate Hudson’s look from the Golden Globes from earlier this month.
