Get Kate Hudson’s Golden Globes Look

There were lots of style standouts at last night’s 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, from Amy Adams in a gorgeous mermaid Marchesa to Emily Blunt in a cutout Michael Kors. We polled our Facebook fans to see whose overall look they would most like to see a step-by-step tutorial on, and no shock here: Kate Hudson was the clear winner.

The blonde bombshell stunned on the red carpet in a plunging Alexander McQueen long sleeve number. (The house’s designer, Sarah Burton, must be dizzy from all her recent success. Burton was responsible for Kate Middleton’s breathtaking wedding gown and will likely be dressing the duchess throughout her pregnancy.)

The gold detailing around the neck and on the belt pulled the ensemble together, making her outfit truly memorable. We’re especially loving that the piece is figure-flattering without being overly taught—very effortlessly elegant—and the hint of a train. To get the look yourself, we suggest a keyhole long sleeve maxi dress like this one from Burberrry cinched with a wide belt like this one from Nasty Gal

Makeup: Kate’s look was bright and fresh—minimal foundation with a single coat of a glossy lip color like Armour Beauty’s lipgloss in Diana—with the focus on her gorgeous cat-eye. To score her look, forego the foundation and instead use an all-in-one CC cream for tinted moisturizer-like coverage. Then, focus on a neutral cat-eye style by following this tutorial with Gossip Girl makeup artist Amy Tagliamonti:

Hair: Kate’s strands were sleek, pretty and perfectly blown-out. You’ll need a blow dryer, a round brush, hair oil to calm down frizz and flyaways, and a few clips to hold back sections of hair. For a step-by-step tutorial on how to blowout your hair, click here.
