Clockwise from top left: Birchbox staffers Charlie, Deepica and Jamie; cheers!; a table for the cast.
You know that moment when everyone around you is talking about a show, and you have no idea what they’re talking about, but you nod your head and pretend like you do? I hate to say it, but that was me with HBO’s Girls. It wasn’t until I scored an invite to the season 2 premiere party on Wednesday night that I realized just what I was missing out on. (Even the most jaded New Yorkers on my team were acting a little jealous.) Take a peek below at some pictures from inside the party!
Clockwise, left to right: Crossing over a mini Brooklyn Bridge, Birchbox staffer Charlie with Zosia Mamet and me with comedian Aziz Ansari.
The party was just the kind of star-studded event that the characters on the show would have wanted to crash, but only Carrie Bradshaw would have had access to. In keeping with the show’s hipster-esque themes, there was required trek up and over a mini Brooklyn Bridge. Waiting on the other side was a lavish champagne and hors d’oeuvres filled event, with everyone from funny guy Jonah Hill to front row fashion favorite Kate Lanphear, now an editor at T magazine, in attendance.
Our creative manager, Charlie was thrilled to meet Girls star Zosia Mamet, who plays Shoshanna (and also appeared on in Charlie’s favorite show, Mad Men)—and when I spotted my favorite comedian and fellow indian Aziz Ansari, I jumped at the chance to get a snap.
For those of you who are just hopping on to the Girls bandwagon like me, it’s not too late to catch up! I’m hoping that this weekend will actually be rainy so I have an excuse to stay in and watch the entire first season so I’ll be caught up for the season two premiere on Sunday.
A look inside the awesome gift bag from the event. I spy a Birchbox!
Will you be watching the Season 2 premiere of Girls on HBO this Sunday at 9pm?
