It’s not often that you get to attend the opening of a brand’s very first store. But such was my luck yesterday when I visited the new Caudalie boutique at 315 Bleecker in New York’s West Village. The luxe skincare line has gone to great lengths to make the space inviting and relaxing, and the brightly lit decor is exactly that. Take a look below for even more pictures from the beautifully designed space!
The focal point of the spot is a central bar packed with testers on one side, and a treatment chair and sink on the other. One of my favorite parts of the location is that it will offer free—yes, free!—10 minute facials that include cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and an application of tinted moisturizer and bronzer.
Throughout the space you’ll find references to vineyards, which is very fitting given that the brand and its formulations center around grape seed polyphenols. (A short primer for those of you who are unfamiliar: Founders Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas are big wine lovers and own their own chateau. They are considered the pioneers of vinotherapie, which is the practice of using grape extracts to improve skin quality.) At the back of the store, there’s even a faux window featuring a video of the Thomas’ vineyard to make it seem like you’re looking out over the grapes.
Another fun offering from the boutique are the customized body scrubs for just $20, which are the perfect gift for a friend (or yourself). You watch as someone concocts the mixture of brown sugar, honey, grape seed, and grape seed oil, and then you get to pick which essential oils you’d like to include. (I chose lemongrass and geranium because of their detoxifying properties.)
If you’re in New York, be sure to stop by the delightful new boutique on Bleeker or, if you’re uptown, check out their new digs at 1031 Lexington Ave. (at 74th), which they opened simultaneously.
