5 Holiday Hair Accessories to Steal From the Runways

While the usual low-slung pony is great for day-to-day, holiday party season provides the ideal opportunity to experiment with a different style. That’s why we’ve teamed up with one of our favorite sites, Beauty High. Each week, they’ll be sending over a few runway shots to inspire you to try something new for your upcoming festive fetes.

We saw plenty of creative hair accessories on the fall/winter runways, and there’s no better time to experiment with some fun hair bling than at a holiday party. Below is some inspiration from a variety of shows—certainly enough to get you through this season!

The bright bobby pins used at Cacharel are the perfect, easy accessory to add some color and flair to any hairstyle. Whether you’re pulling your hair back into a ponytail or simply leaving it loose, using a few bright pins like these twisted bobby one from Wet Seal ($6.50) or these eye-catching ones from Jane Tran ($12) to clip your hair behind your ear will help give your style a refined edge.

The girls at Oscar de la Renta all sported faux bobs on the runway, and even if you don’t want to dedicate your time to that hairstyle, you can still get the look by investing in a ribbon headband with a jewel. Simply leave your hair down (we recommend some loose curls for this look) and center a headband like this one from this one from Nina Clarisse ($85) toward the front of your head.

For a more laidback approach to hair accessories (or if you’re simply growing out your bangs), use a gold or silver bobby pins like these from Karina Metallic ($3.50) on a deeply side parted ponytail to get you through any holiday party.

Rodarte. (Photo: Imaxtree)

The hair accessories seen on the runway at Rodarte made everyone gush, and they’re perfect for the holiday season. We recommend pulling your hair back into a low chignon and using a hair comb like this star cluster one from Elle ($15) tucked into a side to add a bit of festive flair.

Dolce & Gabbana. (Photo: Imaxtree)

The floral headbands seen at Dolce & Gabbana were like intricate pieces of art and they definitely added an “it” factor to a simple and sleek hairstyle. If you’re going for a straightforward bun this holiday season, add a floral or bejeweled headband like this on from Jane Tran ($70) for extra glitz.
