How We’re Prepping For Winter: Special Ops

We’re always talking about the staffers in the Birchbox office, but the ones who you interact with everyday are the ladies of our hard-working Ops team. These fabulous femmes handle all of your customer service woes. We wanted to give you a chance to get to know them even better—so here’s a peek at who’s on the other side of the phone.

After Hurricane Sandy and last week’s Nor’easter, we went from a stroll through fall to a full-on sprint into winter. The not-so-subtle push from Mother Nature has urged us to get ready (and excited) for winter ahead of schedule. Here are the latest gadgets, clothes, and amazing beauty products that some of our team can’t wait to use this season:

Operations Associate Molly found a way to bring more sunshine into her life, which can be difficult with sunset beginning at 4p.m. these days! Thanks to her Sunbox SunLight Jr.—a desk-sized light therapy lamp—Molly (and the rest of our team) can fight off Seasonal Affective Disorder by soaking up UV-free rays for 30 minutes a day. Molly’s also wants to make sure her hair gets enough T.L.C. this winter, so she’s already started using Orofluido’s Elixir “as a no-fuss way to keep moisture locked in during the colder months!”

Lead Operations Associate Paulina has embraced the cold as an opportunity to expand her wardrobe. After hunting for a cozy yet cute new jacket, she finally found this cropped peacoat from Kenneth Cole. Paulina’s go-to beauty essential for winter? 100% Pure African Black Soap. “I’m loving this multi-tasking, all natural soap sourced from West Africa. I just add water and use it to cleanse, exfoliate, and even shampoo.”

What are your winter essentials?
