Brace yourself for some crazy news that made our stomachs clench: a Chinese man named Jian Feng recently divorced and sued his wife for being born “ugly.” He said that his ex-wife, whose name has not been released, deceived him into marrying her and never told him about the $100,000 worth of plastic surgery she had before they met to make herself beautiful.
"I married my wife out of love, but as soon as we had our first daughter, we began having marital issues. Our daughter was incredibly ugly, to the point where it horrified me," Jian told authorities.
After their daughter was born, Jian first accused his wife of cheating on him, claiming that the child didn’t resemble either of them. That was when she admitted to getting multiple cosmetic procedures, and Jian responded by filing a lawsuit and accusing his wife of getting him to marry her “under false pretenses.”
What’s even crazier is that the judge sided with Jian and awarded him $120,000. In case you’re curious, here are (a little blurry) before and after photos of the woman in question:

As you can see, the difference in her appearance is striking, and I can’t help but speculate: was this woman’s decision to undergo radical plastic surgery driven by social pressures to find a husband? (The Chinese government recently launched a media campaign warning “leftover women”—single professionals living in cities who are over the age of 27—to hurry up and get married before they turn 30 or risk a lifetime of spinsterhood.) And if it was, does that make the result of this whole story that much more unfortunate?
What do you think: should she have told her husband about her plastic surgeries? Tell us in the comments!
