Beauty Essentials to Make a Hotel Room Your Own: Guest Blogger

Monique Valeris of home and design blog Decor Musings always has fantastic suggestions for how to spruce up your domestic space, but she’s also an avid beauty fan with a keen eye for products. Which is why she’s the perfect person to tell us how to meld our love of makeup and home design together. This week, she’s sharing her tips on the best beauty gifts for your house guests, the accent wall color she loves right now, and more.

If you’re taking a vacation soon, don’t neglect to carry along a few beauty essentials to ensure that your hotel room is super comfortable. Here are my four suggestions:

1. A travel candle. Let’s face it, most hotel rooms don’t smell amazing. Change that in an instant by bringing your favorite scent with you in the form of a candle. The aroma will also make the space feel more inviting. My personal favorite is the Coconut Milk Travel Candle from Illume.

2. Luxurious hand cream. This is the perfect item to use right before turning in for the night. Place it on the nightstand so that it’s easily accessible. Lollia is one of my go-to brands for creams because they have a light fragrance, they aren’t greasy, and they soak right into skin.

3. Shower gel for a quick pick-me-up. Using a shower gel in a delightful scent is one of the easiest ways to boost your mood. My new favorite is Nest’s Grapefruit formula.

4. Oil is everything. To relax, I’ll use a soothing oil on my skin after jumping out of the shower or right before going to bed. Lately, my go-to is Molton Brown’s Sleep Cedrus Body Oil. There’s something about it that just puts your body at ease.
