A Week of: Really beautiful blush

Monday: Shu Uemura Glow On Blush in Pearl Wine Pink, $24, shuuemura.com

This was a bright fuchsia powder blush. The brightness was actually perfect for Valentine’s Day, and it made my exciting plans of interviewing pediatricians a touch more romantic. (Oh, the life of a 8-month-pregnant woman). Later, I layered some shimmery gold eyeshadow over it to add a little bit of sparkle for dinner.

Tuesday: Stila Custom Color Blush, $20, birchbox.com

By now, I know not to be too afraid of the bright pink blush. It worked perfectly for the rosy cheek look, and it really does change shades. Science is amazing!

Wednesday: Tarte TEN Natural Cheek Stain, $30, amazon.com

At first glance, it’s really pink. Um, shockingly pink. But because it’s a stain, it goes on sheer, and I put translucent powder over it for a glow-from-within look. It’s a great way to perk up the no-makeup look.

Thursday: Stila One Step Primecolor in Capri Coral, $22, amazon.com

A little goes a long way with this one, but I loved that I could use it on my lips (just add gloss) and come up with a simple, quick look.

Friday: Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Color in Praline, $22, lauramercier.com

I’m terrible with cream blush—I actually used a concealer brush for this one. Since it’s on the darker side, I used Nam Vo's bronzer technique (swept a 'C' from my temples to cheekbones), finished with translucent powder. Hello cheekbones!
