Blair Badge is one multi-talented lady: she’s a social media manager, a beauty editor for fashion site Chictopia, a model, a newlywed and an all-around awesome gal with a penchant for witty banter. We think she, and her dreamy blog love, blair, are so awesome that we had to ask her back for a second stint as a guest blogger. This week, she’s sharing her must-have products for a night out clutch, the secret to a triple topsy tail (!), and makeup tips to get you photo-ready in a flash.
Back in the ’90s I remember owning a topsy-tail hook for making those perfectly looped ponytails. Who would have thought that almost two decades later I’d still be donning a similar look. Perhaps a new iconic hairstyle? I think yes.
I like this look as a casual day style, ideal for lounging around on the weekend. And what makes it brilliant is that it only takes three minutes or less to create! Just follow these easy steps:
1. Pull hair back into three horizontal sections, securing each loosely with a clear elastic.
2. Evenly part the hair of the top section above the elastic. With the excess hair below the elastic, pull up and through the parted section to create the first twist. Repeat this step with the second and third sections of hair.
3. Pull the tail of the second section through the part on the third loop, so it looks like it’s threaded through. Repeat this step by weaving the tail of the first section through the second and third loops. Think “cascading waterfall” while intertwining your topsy-tails.
4. Gently tighten each elastic to maintain the topsy-tail shape, spray with a flexible-hold hairspray and GO!
