Good Enough to Eat: Sprout Lip Balm

For awhile, I was making weekly trips to One Lucky Duck for $16 kale salads. (What can I say? I want to look like founder Sarma Melngailis.) In addition to her amazing green smoothies and raw lasagna, Melngailis is known for sussing out the best of organic, good-for-you skincare. That’s how I discovered Sprout, a Brooklyn-based skincare line that makes all their effective, natural products by hand. Every one of their products is made with five or fewer ingredients—no fillers or preservatives—which means all you get are highly potent formulas that really work.

Ever since I tried Sprout’s lip balms, I’ve been lobbying to get them in a Birchbox. And I’ve finally succeeded—this month, some of our goop boxes will include Sprout’s velvety balms, made with a blend of coconut oil, cocoa butter, essential oils, and either beeswax or candelilla wax. They come delicious flavors like Cocoa, Peppermint, Citrus, and Cinnamon (my favorite is Cocoa, obvi).

I can’t wait to hear what you think!
