"The inspiration is Brigitte Bardot when she’s on holiday,” said lead hair stylist Odile Gilbert for Kerastase backstage at yesterday’s Erin by Erin Fetherston presentation. “So the hair is cool, and easy—the girls have a little wave and texture.”
The flirty ’60s rock-n-roll style was epitomized by the movie star’s signature tousled locks and emphasized by a kitschy zipper headband. Each of the girls was given faux-bangs by twisting a longer section of hair near the front of the face, and then inserting the ends into the partly-unzipped headband and tucked behind the ear. To style the look, Gilbert used Kerastase’s Mousse Volumative plus Double Force Hairspray to achieve a loose hold on hair, and finished ends with their new Elixir Ultime Rose Millenaire hair oil to add shine, which is specifically formulated for fine hair.
And just in case you were wondering what brand of polish the model is wearing, it’s Butter London. Lead manicurist Katie Hughes was dressing the girls’ digits in one of two very Mod shades: Lillibets Jubilee (silver) and The Full Monty (gold).
