We’re devoted fans of all things polish in the Birchbox offices, so of course Gina Galullo’s nail polish blog, Prim and Polished, caught our eye. A lawyer-by-day and a lacquer connoisseur-by-night, Galullo posts thoughtful reviews of new shades along with colorful swatches, so even novice polish-wearers have an insider’s guide to the prettiest hues. This week, she shares the products she can’t live without, plus the work-appropriate shades you can even rock in your cubicle.

Not only do I love nail polish but I love makeup as well. It can be difficult to decide what to pack sometimes when traveling, so I wanted to show you what I brought on a recent cruise.
I decided not to pack anything really high end in case something got lost or broken. With these ten products I was able to create a variety of looks. The Wet n’ Wild palettes are amazing quality for the price, and between the two I had a supply of both mattes and shimmers. I brought BB cream for the days when I wanted to simply even out my skintone, and Revlon Whipped Crème for days when I needed a more polished look. To round the collection out, I chose a bright pink blush which always brightens my face and a red/coral lipstick for a pop of color.
I brought mostly basics, but when used creatively I had more than enough makeup to create a new look everyday of the week.
