We’re calling it the Mad Men Joan effect—redheads are taking over the beauty world. (Photo: 15minutebeauty.com)
We’ve always wondered if blondes really do have more fun, and a recent L’Oréal Paris survey has answered our ponderings. The beauty brand polled 1,000 respondents on Facebook to dig into the nitty-gritty of what our hair shades—blonde, red, and brunette—say about us, and we were pleasantly surprised by the results.
Based on the findings, it sounds like blondes need to make some room for the new queens of the mountain: redheads. Crimson-haired beauties are two times less likely to have a bad hair day, and what’s more, 70 percent of copper-headed respondents said that they have the most fun. Looks like Emma Stone and Katy Perry are on to something! We’re wondering if the popularity of Mad Men gave rise to a deep admiration and envy for Joan Holloway’s gorgeous crimson shade.
L’Oréal Paris also unearthed some fun facts about hair shades and gentlemen: 80 percent of respondents said they found brunette gents the most attractive. (Poor Dawson, maybe that’s why Joey ended up with Pacey.) But our absolute favorite finding from the survey? Only 9 percent of femmes said they would change their shade for a guy. Way to stay true to yourselves, ladies!
