Our New Favorite DIT (Dermatologist-in-Training): Aegean Chan

Aegean Chan: soon-to-be dermatologist, blogger, and all-around cool girl. Photo: Refinery29 and Aegmora.

Aegean Chan is a powerhouse—not only is she a dermatologist-in-training (with a history of humanitarian work), she’s behind one of our must-read blogs and was selected by Refinery 29 as one of the 30 under 30 - Rising Stars in NY this June. Others on the list include totally famous people Lauren Bush Lauren, Solange Knowles and Lily Kwong. Her blog, aegmora.com is full of her cheeky and well-informed take on beauty topics like the recent post "Why So Hyphy About Eye Cream" and her 'Treat yo self' columns. Lucky for us she’ll be guest blogging right here September 10th-14th. Read on for her summer beauty routine and best summer beauty find.

Summer Beauty Routine

For me, summer is all about being outside, barefoot, and carefree as much as possible. I need a beauty routine that is just as simple as these little pleasures of summer.  With the sizzling heat, light is the key characteristic of a summer wardrobe, as well as a skincare regimen.

My staple is Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Tinted moisturizer.  I have tried many a tinted moisturizer, and I love this one because it’s feather light but has a dense enough pigment to do a fantastic job of evening out my complexion.  The SPF 15 in it is great for everyday but if you need a little more sun protection (which is key to keeping yourself fresh and wrinkle free!), Kiehl’s Super Fluid UV Defense is awesome, light as a linen romper, and can be mixed with the tinted moisturizer for full protection from the UV rays.  After that, a sweep of the cheek bones with a great bronzer to define, a little mascara, and some Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted lip treatment is all I need before embarking on some summer shenanigans.
Best Summer Beauty Find

I am obsessed with looking like I just came from the beach and when I discovered Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray at my local drug store, I jumped for joy. For about $5, I had the beach in a bottle. You can spritz it on wet or dry hair to get those salty summer waves and it has a luscious coconut scent. It was definitely my best and favorite summer beauty find and summer will never be the same without it.
