Fans eagerly waiting for their Archie caricatures at the MAC store in San Diego’s Gaslamp district.
We’re at San Diego’s famous Comic-Con—home to all things superhero, fantasy, sci-fi and of course, comics. It’s known as one of the craziest gatherings of super-fans in the world, and so far it has lived up to the hype. (Our favorite costumes till now have included Xena, Thor, and the Super Mario Bros.)
Just in time for this gigantic pop culture conference, MAC has announced a new Archie comics-inspired collection. Get ready, all you would-be Betty and Veronicas! Makeup looks inspired by everyone’s favorite girl next door and raven-haired heiress are coming to stores in spring 2013. While the collaboration won’t launch until next year, MAC is promoting the set in its Gaslamp District boutique—and we stopped by to get the scoop.
Visitors can stop by and meet comic artist Dan Parent (above), who is drawing personalized caricatures and illustrations, or get a Betty- or Veronica-style beauty look from one of the store’s makeup artists. While MAC is keeping mum about the details, insiders told us to inspect the collaboration’s logo to get ideas for what the collection will include. Given Betty and Veronica’s extra-dramatic lashes, we’re thinking a seriously voluminous mascara and a deep gorgeous lip color.
Stay tuned for more Comic-Con goodness the rest of this week! Are you at the conference? Tell us where you’ll be!
