Why Does Birchbox Have a Shop? A Letter From the Co-Founders

We created Birchbox to be more than a sampling service—it’s an end to end discovery platform. From the first day we dreamed up Birchbox, we considered a shop an essential component of the service. It’s simple: the shop completes the experience for both consumers (you!) and brand partners.

For Consumers

We strive to be a one-stop service to help you sample new products, learn to use them with original editorial content, and then buy in a simple and well-edited environment. By being both a sampling and shopping destination, we make it easier for you to find products you love—less time, more fun.

For Brands

We are a better way for brands to connect to consumers like you. Because of our shop, we can measure—and prove!—the effectiveness of sampling and help brands meet their ultimate goal of selling more products.

The Virtuous Cycle

We hope you choose every time you buy full-size beauty products because this proves to brand partners that our business model works. This, in turn, unlocks access to additional high quality samples. We like to think of it as a virtuous cycle.
