I can’t recall exactly what prompted my epiphany, but a few years ago I gave up on powder. Sure, I’ll use a translucent powder to set makeup, but I threw away my last pressed powder compact long ago. The reason? Dry is boring, dewy is sexy. Around the same time, I started experimenting with face oils, and I haven’t looked back since. These lightweight, natural oils are easily absorbed, and are perfect for colder months when your skin is parched, red, and irritated. Lately, I’ve been using Darphin Organic Orange Blossom Aromatic Care, which has the added bonus of clearing my stuffed up sinuses. After I wash my face, I simply pour a couple drops into my palms, rub them together, and then pat all over my face. For regular use, I love Dr. Hauschka’s Normalizing Day Oil, and on days when my skin is extra-dry, I go for Pomega’s ultra-rich Daily Revitalizing Concentrate ampules, which are packed with Omega 5.
