Nail guru Essie Weingarten, creator of beloved Essie nail polishes, is at long last opening a salon all her own in New York City. The new nail spot, located inside the Samuel Shriqui salon on East 65th Street, is a cheery, calming respite from the chaos of the Big Apple.
The location has 250 different Essie shades, and features bright white interiors highlighted with dyed leather love seats in purple, pink and red hues—an intentional hommage the brand’s happy nail colors by interior designer Peter Millard.
The opening is particularly exciting for Weingarten, who first debuted her line of lacquers in 1981 and told Vogue: “it’s really an out-of-bottle experience…now when I drive down Sixty-fifth Street and see my name on the awning, I can’t believe it.”
Here are the lowdown deets: Manicure pricing starts at $32, and Beauty High is reporting that there’s a very good chance you’ll see Essie herself getting her nails all lacquered up in “Blushing Bride” and “Mademoiselle.”
We can’t wait to take our first field trip up there to see it ourselves! Are you excited about Essie’s inaugural nail salon?
Summer is officially here, which means it’s mani pedi season. Here’s how to stay chip-free in the office or at the beach.
