This week’s guest blogger, Vida Lee, hits close to home for us—literally! She’s a beauty guru based in our hometown: New York City. Aside from being a product addict, she’s also a medical school student (whoa!) who makes time on the side for her pretty blog, P.S. It’s Vida. Over the next few days, the smarty savant will be sharing her greatest tips and tricks for staying prepped and primed for summer.
Skincare is one of my absolute favorite things. I love experimenting and trying new things, but there are a few products I’ve found that will probably never leave my routine. These are some of the skincare items I use on a daily basis.
For daytime, I like to use Clinique Dramatically Different Gel. This is perfect for people with oily-combination or oily skin. It feels beautiful and sinks in almost immediately so you can start putting your makeup on right away.
At night, after removing my makeup with baby oil (fancy, huh?), I’ll wash my face with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser for normal to oily skin using my Clarisonic Mia. Cetaphil is amazing because it gives my skin a deep clean without stripping it. And, it works perfectly with my Clarisonic. I could do a whole separate post raving about this fantastic tool, but I’ll just sum it up here: It gives me visibly smoother, brighter skin and cleans like nothing else.
Next, I tone my face with the Super by Dr. Nicholas Perricone Brightening Activator. This is a natural ingredient-based toner that exfoliates the skin and preps it for whatever products you put on after cleansing. I also happen to like that it tingles when you apply.
For people like me who struggle with blackheads, or oily, congested T-zones, the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo is a miracle worker. This product packs the power of two acne fighting ingredients, benzoyl peroxide and micro-exfoliating LHA. It zaps blackheads and works great as a spot treatment as well.
I also like to use a heavy-duty moisturizer before bed since I have dry skin in certain areas. For this, I use La Roche Posay Nutritic Emulsion 2.5%. This feels surprisingly lightweight, but it really helps to put the moisture back in my skin so I wake up with fresh, balanced skin.
