You may have noticed by now that Birchbox staffers are a particularly fitness-loving bunch. We have workday workouts to help us stay in shape during business hours, and we are devotees of everything from SoulCycle to bootcamp to rock climbing. So it goes without saying that if a website suddenly existed that would let us find and schedule all the exercise classes we love, no matter where we are in the country, it would be at the top of our bookmark list.
Enter GoRecess.com. The site lets you search for and book a plethora of boutique fitness classes based on your location, the time you’d like, and the type of class you’re up for (cardio, yoga, barre/pilates, etc.). Hit “GoRecess!” and you’ll see an up to the minute set of available courses. Helpfully, even the instructor’s name is listed (if you mouse over their name, a bio with their background will pop-up), plus you can also see reviews from other users of the classes. Think of it like an OpenTable for working out. Major bonus? GoRecess will only show you classes that have availability, so no fretting about signing up for an already full vinyasa session; and happily, the site is totally free.
I’ve decided that I’ll be using this at least twice a week so I don’t make excuses to miss anymore exercise days. Thank goodness for easy-to-use online tools.
