Grooming Advice from Birchbox Dads: Father’s Day Edition Part 2

Birchbox dads are an awesome bunch. They not only taught us how to fish, barbecue and enjoy a game of football; they also provided us with some of our best (and most hilarious) grooming advice. In honor of Father’s day, we’re sharing the greatest-hits of fatherly beauty tips and what we’ll be giving them on this special holiday. Thanks Dads, for always believing in us! Are you still looking for a gift for your Papa? You have until noon tomorrow (Monday!) to order with guaranteed delivery in time for Father’s Day.

Deepica Mutyala and Dad

Dad’s Grooming Advice/Story: Whenever we travel, my dad makes fun of all the products I bring with me. My favorite grooming advice he ever gave was to keep your day-to-day regimen short and sweet. There’s no need for a million products as long as you have the ones that work for best for you. If only I listened…

Father’s Day Present: My dad is the simplest man you’ll ever meet and will NEVER splurge on himself. Because of this, I feel like it’s my duty as his (beauty-obsessed) daughter to do that for him. In recent years, it’s become tradition that I get him a new cologne every Father’s Day. It’s also my way of ensuring he doesn’t go back to his classic Polo cologne that he’s been wearing since I was born! This year, I’m getting him Arquiste L’Etrog. It’s a scent that I love, so I know he will too. Happy Father’s Day, Daddy! I love and miss you tons.

Dad’s Grooming Advice:  If you get a fragrance that you really like but doesn’t go well with your skin chemistry, you can wear an unscented moisturizer or lotion and that will help maintain the “original” scent of the fragrance.
Gift: My dad loves all things Kiehl’s and because he tends to have oily skin, one of the gifts I’d love to get for him is Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion.  It’s light and oil-free, making it the perfect moisturizer for summer.

Dad’s Best Grooming Advice: Take care of your feet. “If the wheels don’t work, the car can’t roll,” is what my dad likes to say. As a runner, I am conscious to always heed his words, plus, who doesn’t love a good pedicure?

Father’s Day Present: Dad is really low-maintenance and still uses bar soap. I think this Keihl’s Ultimate Man Scrub Body Soap is a nice upgrade that’s still rugged.

If you need even more inspiration for what to get for Dad, here’s our Father’s Day Gift Guide.
