Operations associate, Loren, has a thing for nails- and we can’t blame her. We love reading about new finishes and fun techniques, so we thought we’d give her a weekly slot on our blog to wax poetic about all things manicure (and pedicure!) related. Check back every Thursday for Nailing It, Birchbox’s dedicated polish series.
The first day of summer is quickly approaching (June 20th) and this is my favorite time of year. Spring and its rain showers have begun to fade, but the sweltering summer heat hasn’t set in yet—which means it’s not too cold for maxi skirts (my favorites) and not too hot for a sweater!
One polish that I’ll be wearing to celebrate this in-between period is RGB Vellum. The light blonde, buttery shade is perfect for any wardrobe changes you’ll be doing between seasons. As predicted, it’s one of the most prominent shades in fashion at the moment and is the perfect complement to a fun outfit, especially if you’re following the neon and neutral trend.
Vellum is one of the four lacquers RGB released for their 2012 Spring Collection. The brand collaborated with LA-based boutique Tenoversix to create four colors that you could wear in any setting. The rare shades are meant to pair as well with work place attire as they would with jeans or sweatpants over the weekend. The best part is that they are also classic enough to be worn all year long.
This parchment/papyrus-inspired polish is a perfect go-to color if you don’t want to go too bright or dark. Not to mention, it has a non-toxic formula so you’ll be doing your nails a favor. I can’t wait to rock this shade at the office and on the weekends with my brights!
What do you think of this buttery shade?
