Birchbox dads are an awesome bunch. They not only taught us how to fish, barbecue and enjoy a game of football; they also provided us with some of our best (and most hilarious) grooming advice. In honor of Father’s Day, we’re sharing the greatest-hits of fatherly beauty tips and what we’ll be giving them on this special holiday. Are you still looking for a gift for your Papa? Order by noon on June 11 (next Monday!) to grab guaranteed delivery in time for Father’s Day.
Jillian Rissman-Sherr and Dad
Dad’s Best Grooming Advice: Always, always wear sunscreen (plus a dorky wide-brimmed hat). And, chapstick is a must—he has a few handy at all times.
Father’s Day Present: I’m giving him the one and only Birchbox Man!
Charlie Cooper and Dad
Dad’s Best Grooming Advice: My father has given me advice about a lot of things in my life, but grooming is not one of those things. If anything it was probably things like, “that skirt is too short” or “you need to cover up…” Poor dad. The one thing I can say is that I’m a lot like my dad and I know that I get a ton of my creative skills from him, which I value immensely.
Father’s Day Present: My father just got a new grill (it might as well be an outdoor kitchen) so for Father’s Day I’m thinking about getting him this awesome grilling accessory by Quirky.
Rachel Silver’s father, Mike Silver (far left), circa the early 90s/late 80s
Dad’s Grooming Advice/Story: My parents met at a bar, and my dad tells us that he picked my mom out of all the girls at the bar because she looked like she didn’t have any makeup on. “Less is more,” says Mike Silver. Except when it comes to moustaches obviously. (Note: Second from the left is my Uncle Jon, with an equally impressive haircut/moustache).
Father’s Day Present: Sadly, he no longer has his moustache. I’ll be giving him MCMC’s Dude No. 1 Beard Oil, which, contrary to its name, can be used on whisker-y or clean-shaven faces.
