Meet Paper Passion, the perfume for booklovers. Photo: jezebel.com
As a proud English major and big old nerd, I’ve always had an overly strong affinity for books. Dinner table conversation as a kid? Who needs that! I’ve got Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys to keep me company. So it might go without saying that I am all about this new perfume from Wallpaper* magazine that actually makes you smell like a new book.
The scent, fittingly called Paper Passion, was created in collaboration with perfumer Gerza Schoen (whose resume includes scents for Diesel and FCUK) and Gerhard Steidl. The nifty packaging for the fragrance, designed to look like a book, is by none other than Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld. Which is perhaps part of the reason why a single bottle will cost you $115. Yes, the price is a little steep. But isn’t it worth it if you, too, can smell like a brand new copy of your favorite Penguin edition of Pride and Prejudice? In all my nerdy glory, I am totally on board with this, but I realize I may be alone on this front.
Would you ever consider buying this bookish scent?
