5 Things Moms-to-Be Need for Summer

In addition to our nonstop schedule of summer weddings, we also seem to have entered the baby years. We have loads of friends, relatives, and colleagues who are moms-to-be. In honor of all of you gorgeous women, we rounded up the top five must-haves that you’ll need to get you and your belly through the warmer months.

1. Natural Makeup

Natural makeup is gentler on your skin and also prevents chemicals and preservatives from entering your system. Try a line like alima pure, which uses mineral-based formulas but still has prettily pigmented shades.

2. Carry-All Bag

While not all of us can afford a gorgeous Celine bag like Hilary Duff is rocking here, we do think that every soon-to-be momma needs a great tote to cart around her everyday essentials. Prenatal vitamins, every kind of cream to keep skin soothed, and of course, your Kindle with baby care and birthing books backlogged and bookmarked.

If anyone can take nude pregnancy photos, it’s a Victoria’s Secret model like Alessandra Ambrosio. Photo:

3. Stretch Mark Cream

Though not everyone ends up getting stretch marks with their baby bumps, many of our mom friends (and moms!) cite it as a top concern. Smooth away any growing lines using a cream with ingredients like shea butter for hydration and licorice root, which helps fade marks.

3. One Piece Swimsuit

Especially if you’re feeling a bit self-conscious, a one-piece is the perfect way to embrace summer fun without showing off too much skin. Kristin Cavallari went daring in a cutout look but a classic style like the halter above is always cool and stylish.

5. Floppy Sun Hat

Almost half of all pregnant women experience the “mask of pregnancy,” or skin pigmentation due to an uptick in hormones. This is the perfect time to bust out your favorite large-brimmed hat and keep your face protected from sun exposure like Sienna Miller to prevent dark spots. But even if you are wearing a hat, don’t forget your sunscreen!

Are you expecting? What are some of your must-haves for the summer?
