We’re guilty of sticking with the same hair cut for years — if it’s not broke, why fix it? — but that can be a little boring. But not everyone has our issue. Paulina, one of our amazing operations associates, is always eyeing new cuts and styles. She’ll be sharing her tress inspiration and tips every other week here in her column, Hairistocracy.
I’ve got a major thing for this season’s latest floral headdresses and headpieces. We’ve been seeing them all over the Cannes red carpets and I think this trend will be sticking around all summer.
What’s not to love? These bold items are flattering and versatile, and you can go as dramatic or subdued as you like. I like wearing a fanciful one as a main accessory on a night out, or pairing a more simple version with jeans for a romantic, bohemian vibe.
One styling tip: you’ll want to pay special attention to your part. For a more traditional look, you can draw your part down the center and let your hair run loose and wild. Alternatively, pair a low side part with a headpiece positioned further back on your head or you could even pull all your hair straight back and put the accessory directly on top.
Headpieces really turn your hair into the main attraction so you better have some excellent conditioners on hand.
