Wedding season is officially upon us! This summer marks my first wedding anniversary, and as an ex-bride, I’m here to give all of you girls the dirty little secrets about how to make it through the craziness of a wedding. Stay tuned all week long as I spout tips to brides and bridesmaids alike!
Up first: what to do if you JUST got engaged. Obviously, you’ll need to update your Facebook status, upload pics of your rock, and do all of the other standard communications…but, then what? Here are a few places to start:
First thing’s first: read up on Birchbox’s very own Bridal Beauty Game Plan. It’s a lifesaver! In fact, I would even recommend printing it out and taping it on your bathroom mirror so you never forget a thing.
Heart dresses on Rent the Runway: This site is a lifesaver for all of your engagement parties, bridal showers, and potentially, even a couple wedding events! I’ve even heard about brides who had their bridesmaids select dresses from Rent the Runway for the big day.
Browse stylists on StyleSeat: Start thinking about the hair and make-up styles you want to rock on your day by browsing through profiles of artists across the country. If you find one you like, make sure to book early!
Build your wedding site with Weduary: The easiest way to create a beautiful, custom wedding website. Plus, you can invite your guests via Facebook so that they can log in and see who else is coming, who has the most in common with them, where it’s all happening, and more. (If they’re single, guests can even see other single guests they can flirt with!)
These tips are just a few ideas to start you down the path of wedding planning. Above all, take a deep breath and enjoy being engaged! It’s such a fun journey and you’ll want to remember it forever.
