Floral Designer Jennifer McGarigle’s Petal-Inspired Blush

I was lucky to chat with the talented and lovely floral designer Jennifer McGarigle, founder of LA’s Floral Art, for an upcoming Birchbox piece. Just for fun, I asked her what flower she would use as inspiration if she were to design a makeup product. I loved her answer:

I adore Sweet Peas. My mom used to pick them for me when I was little.  And, because of that sentimentality, my mom once jumped in someone’s yard to pick some for me and got caught. She was mortified, but the lady let her cut them anyway when she explained the reason for her crime. I think that the pale pink could be a really pretty blush and maybe look a bit like NARS, which I love too.

It got me thinking about my favorite petal-y blushes, including Bobbi Brown’s Peony and Guerlain’s Cherry Blossom. These rosy blushes are perfect for brightening up pale winter skin.
