Strong, Grown-Up Beauty at Peter Som

The Show: Peter Som
Hair: Eugene Souleiman for Wella
Makeup: Tom Pecheux for M.A.C.
Nails: Sunshine Outing for Zoya
The Vibe: Strong, minimal beauty. Eugene Souleiman, lead stylist for Wella, spoke about Som’s shift away from the rich, bad girl of past seasons and instead presented a stronger, more elegant woman. Accordingly, the hair was sleek on top with a deep side part, and the back fell into messy, beachy waves created with the help from Wella’s Ocean Spritz Texture Spray. For the face, Tom Pecheux for M.A.C. wanted a complexion that was fresh and matte with brows that were, as he put it, “present to give confidence.” The only color on the face came from a M.A.C. lipstick called Delectable, which was used on both the lips and eyes, as well as a violet and gold swirl new blush called Stratus that was blended just at the back of the cheeks near the ear and hairline for a bit of contour.

For nails, Rebecca Isa, Zoya’s color specialist, worked with Som’s design team to create three custom colors, two of which were featured on the runway. Models wore Audrey, a light pink shade with peach undertones, on fingers, and Evvie, a smokey evergreen, on their toes.
