Valentine’s Day Mani Roundup: Nailing It

It’s that time of year again. Some might cringe at the Hallmark and chocolate-saturated spirit of Valentine’s day, but I see it as another opportunity to play with nail art. After just a little bit of digging, I came across some pretty nifty and creative concepts that you should consider wearing on your digits.
1. Candy Hearts Mani (top left)
I love this mani idea because it’s so simple, yet so creative. Pick five of your favorite pastels and add a statement nail with one of your favorite sayings from these quintessential Valentine’s Day treats. Try using pastels from Essie’s Navigate Her Collection and Zoya’s True Collection, then write a message using Color Club’s Art Stripers in MOD Pink!
2. L-O-V-E Mani (bottom left)
This look is great because it’s easy to do but also adds a unique twist to a classic manicure. Pick your favorite red—right now mine is Ciate Snatch—and once it’s dried, use a nail art pen to draw individual letters spelling “love” on each finger. Add a heart as the finishing touch. Lately I’ve been obsessed with Color Club Art Stripers, which made last week’s neon zebra mani possible. Try it out in Black to make your script really stand out!
3. Love Letter Mani (bottom right)
Though this love letter style requires the most skills to pull it off, it’s too adorable to not include! Start with a white base (OPI Alpine Snow is always my go-to), then use Color Club Art Stripers in MOD Pink and Black for the heart and envelope designs.
For those of you who aren’t quite as steady with your hands, or those who prefer a simpler manicure, you can never go wrong with a great red. Try Deborah Lippmann My Old Flame or Zoya Sooki to get a classic, yet sexy look that is perfectly on-theme.
What color are you going to be wearing on your digits for Valentine’s Day?
