Do Women Over 60 Need Their Own Makeup Line?

Photo: WWD, a Baby boomer lifestyle website, has just launched a mineral makeup line called Fabulous designed specifically for aging beauties. The founder of the site, Andrea Warshaw-Wernick, who has appeared on the Real Housewives of NYC, created the line using a sophisticated and muted color palette, veering towards classic shades that are flattering on everyone. WWD reports that the highly pigmented color extracts used in the products were created with aging skin types in mind.

The line is non-comedogenic, fragrance free, allergy-free and includes everything from liquid eyeliner to lightweight concealer to creamy blush to custom mineral eyeshadow. Prices for products range from $15-$30 and all are being sold through Warshaw-Wernick’s site.

Fabulous is the second line launched within the last year aimed at reaching the mature femmes demographic. Last fall, makeup artist turned model Cindy Joseph released her “pro-age cosmetic line” called Boom! (Fun fact: Joseph was scouted as a model at age 49, the day that she cut off her dyed locks and fully embraced her silver hair.)

Are you excited by the Fabulous and Boom! lines, and would you use their products in place of what you use now?

Serums with hyaluronic acid are all the rage these days, since the ingredient ultra-moisturizes and plumps skin. One of our favorites is Borghese’s CuraForte moisture intensifier.
